What is HTX?

HTX is a Seychelles-based crypto exchange founded in 2013 by Leon Li, originally under the name Huobi Global. It rebranded in 2023, with Justin Sun, the creator of TRON, becoming a key stakeholder. The platform offers diverse trading options including spot markets, margin trading with 5x leverage, crypto options, automated grid bots, and social copy-trading.

One of HTX’s main attractions is its perpetual futures exchange, featuring contracts without expiration dates. Traders can speculate on price changes for major cryptocurrencies, using leverage up to 200x on Bitcoin and Ethereum, and up to 125x for certain altcoins. HTX supports over 700 digital assets, making it attractive to both professional traders and individual investors.

HTX Futures Fee Schedule

HTX uses a tiered fee structure for its USDT-margined futures trading. At the base level (Prime0), maker fees are set at 0.02% and taker fees at 0.06%. These rates improve as users move up the tiers, with Prime11 offering the lowest fees, zero maker fees and 0.025% for takers.

Traders who pay fees using HTX tokens or TRX enjoy further discounts. At the highest tier (Prime11) with token deductions, the maker fee remains zero, while the taker fee drops to just 0.0225%, making HTX highly competitive for active derivatives traders.

HTX holds regulatory licenses or approvals including VCO & VCE (Lithuania), VARA (Dubai), SIBA (BVI), and Payment & Remittance Services (South America).

Where is HTX Available?

HTX operates in over 160 countries but restricts access in regions including the United States, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Canada, Russia, Cuba, Iran, Japan, North Korea, Singapore, Germany, and others. Derivatives trading is also unavailable to users in the UK (retail only), Taiwan, Israel, Spain, and New Zealand.

Is HTX Safe and Legit?

HTX is a legitimate cryptocurrency exchange operating since 2013, with a solid track record overall. It uses strong security measures, including multi-signature cold storage, two-factor authentication (2FA), withdrawal address whitelisting, and anti-phishing codes. 

HTX also conducts regular Merkle Tree Proof-of-Reserves (PoR) audits, showing it holds enough assets to cover customer balances, for example, recent audits confirmed reserves of 101% for Bitcoin and 100% for Ethereum.
